Sunny mornings on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa give way to cooler, misty afternoons. Rich, volcanic soil nurtures the coffee planted there, and only the reddest and ripest cherry is handpicked for roasting.
Cherry; red, ripe coffee beans
Maile (MY-leh); sacred Hawaiian plant with fragrant, dark green leaves
Each Kanilea pen is unique in color and pattern because our pens are handmade and our acrylic material is hand-poured. The "cherry" pattern varies from pen to pen and from our online photos. Your Kona Cherry Maile Lei will be uniquely yours—no one will have one just like it, and that makes every Kanilea very special.
Kona Cherry Maile Lei is created with a wide Argentium Silver band featuring a lei of maile leaves. A lei made of maile leaves expresses many meanings and is used to celebrate important life events or is given as a sign of friendship. Traditionally, a maile lei is worn draped around the neck, open ended, but closed maile leis are also made. Our Maile Lei band represents an unbroken circle of love, respect, peace, and friendship—here, maile leaves dance around band in celebration of Kanilea's 5th anniversary and of the continuous connection with our 'ohana in the pen community.
Read about the items included with your pen. Additionally, we offer Kona Cherry, which is created without our Maile Lei band.
