Description
Maui’s winding road to Hana takes you past a small, sheltered bay called Honokalani. Clear blue water swirls in beautiful contrast to the glistening black sand. We sit in sun-drenched bliss, listening to the music of the waves.
Honokalani (ho-no-kah-LAH-nee); harbor of the chief
Maile (MY-leh); sacred Hawaiian plant with fragrant, dark green leaves
Each Kanilea pen is unique in color and pattern because our pens are handmade and our acrylic material is hand-poured. The pattern of "blue ocean" and "black sand beach" varies from pen to pen and from our online photos. Your Honokalani Maile Lei will be uniquely yours—no one will have one just like it, and that makes every Kanilea very special.
Honokalani Maile Lei is created with a wide Argentium Silver band featuring a lei of maile leaves. A lei made of maile leaves expresses many meanings and is used to celebrate important life events or is given as a sign of friendship. Traditionally, a maile lei is worn draped around the neck, open ended, but closed maile leis are also made. Our Maile Lei band represents an unbroken circle of love, respect, peace, and friendship—it's the expression of the love woven into all Kanilea pens. Here, maile leaves dance around band in celebration of Kanilea's continuous connection with our 'ohana in the pen community.
